Elm Tree In Queenstown Gardens, New Zealand
Ulmus glabra “Horizontalis” or Horizontal Elm. Taken by Liz 27 Oct 2018.
The elm was planted by members of the Queenstown Girl Guides Association on May 12, 1937 “to commemorate the Coronation of His Majesty King George VI”.
Here is a photo showing the full spread of the elm:

Be creative and have fun. Life is too short and meant to be enjoyed, even the bumps along the way. 😀

What an amazing tree span, you could house a nation beneath it. Nature is the true majesty

Yes, it is amazing! It can get very hot in the rose garden in summer and its such a sweet relief to rest in the shade of the big elm.

I was watching the BBC remake of Watership Down over Christmas, it feels like the kind of tree Rabbits would like to burrow beneath
